J: Variables

You can import or create variables to quantify your qualitative analysis results or to add additional information to pieces of data. MAXQDA differentiates between document variables and code variables. Document variables are associated with an entire document, (e.g. the person interviewed in an interview transcript). In these cases, you can assign socio-demographic information like age, education level, etc. that can then be analyzed in conjunction with the actual document.

In the following subchapter you will get to know how to create new variables in MAXQDA and the advantages of working with it.
