The newest free update for MAXQDA 10 offers new mixed methods functionality – all you have to do is click on “Check for updates” in the “?” drop-down menu. While MAXQDA has always been at the forefront of mixed methods integration, there are always ways to improve. Now you can use the new Quote Matrix and Typology Table to analyze a mix of quantitative and qualitative data in your data set.

The Quote Matrix lets you connect variables and coded text segments, comparing those statements made by people with certain characteristics with statements made by people with different characteristics. If you want to name certain combinations of characteristics (e.g. married women 19-35 with at least a high school education), then the Typology Table is the way to go. You’ll find all of these new functions in the “Mixed Methods” drop-down menu.
