Mastering Multimedia Analysis with MAXQDA

All materials have been developed by our certified MAXQDA trainer Andreas Müller based on his 9 years experience from training courses and will introduce you to multimedia analysis with MAXQDA step by step. The course consists of the following modules:

• 1. Foundations
  This module introduces qualitative data analysis with a focus on multimedia data like audio and video. You’ll learn to import, transcribe, and seamlessly link these files for effective coding and analysis. The module emphasizes techniques for identifying key themes within multimedia content, unlocking deeper insights. By the end, you’ll be proficient in using MAXQDA to analyze and interpret rich multimedia data.
• 2. Coding Multimedia Data
  In this module you’ll be guided through coding audio data in MAXQDA, covering both transcript-based and direct audio track coding. It emphasizes the importance of detailed segment comments for richer analysis and easier data retrieval. You will understand how to leverage MAXQDA’s features for nuanced qualitative research with audio data. The module equips you to confidently analyze spoken content and non-verbal cues within their research projects.
• 3. Analyzing Coded Multimedia Data
  This module takes your multimedia analysis in MAXQDA to the next level, starting with efficiently finding and extracting the exact video clips you need for reporting. You’ll move beyond simple code counts to deeply understand where those codes appear across all your different media – video, audio, images, and text. You’ll learn to spot patterns and imbalances in your data using powerful quantitative tools, and finally, explore visual ways to map out your findings and reveal hidden connections.

• 4. Advanced Multimedia Analysis
  You’ll learn how to import and analyze YouTube data within MAXQDA, integrating video, transcripts, and comments for comprehensive analysis. This module demonstrates how to retrieve video information and import comments and transcripts directly into your MAXQDA project. And, it covers coding techniques for transcripts, comments, and video using the Multimedia Browser. Applying a unified code system seamlessly integrates your analysis and retrieves coded segments for a holistic understanding.
