Early in March, academics from around the world gathered in Marburg, Germany, to attend the 14th MAXQDA user conference (CAQD). As always, the four-day conference included a series of workshops in German and, for the first time, also in English. Apart from MAXQDA workshops for beginners and advanced users, various workshops on qualitative research and mixed methods were part of the program. For the evening lecture of the CAQD 2012 Prof. Dr. Jo Reichertz (University of Duisburg-Essen) offered his personal insights into the history of qualitative social research in Germany.
The conference further included keynotes by mixed methods experts Prof. Dr. John Creswell (University of Nebraska, USA) and Prof. Dr. Nigel Fielding (University of Surrey, UK), followed by a user forum with chaired discussions on the uses of MAXQDA for different purposes (e.g. team work, mixed methods). The poster session also encouraged lively debates and provided a great opportunity for networking.
As in previous years, the CAQD was organised by the Marburg Research Group for Methods & Evaluation (MAGMA).
