Experience

I am a lecturer, project expert, associated researcher of DAtA center, and a PhD candidate of Educational sciences at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). My scientific interest and expertise areas are technology-enhanced teaching/learning, digital pedagogy, research methods, and sociolinguistics.

Since 2018, I have been teaching courses related to research methods (more precisely, “Introduction to Research Methods”, “Qualitative Research Practicum”, “Social Networks and Media Analysis”, “Media Monitoring and Research”, and “Quantitative and Qualitative Methods in Social Research”), all of which include learning how to use MAXQDA and applying it to various research projects. I am currently also supervising Bachelor’s final degree projects, in which students also use MAXQDA.

Since 2019, I have been giving face-to-face and online training on using MAXQDA to scholars with varying degrees of experience in using QDAs and conducting qualitative and/or mixed methods research. The training workshops are made suitable for scholars that cover any scientific field, and I always combine hands-on training with tips and tricks related to conducting scientific research. Up to 2023, I have given at least 17 workshops under KTU’s DAtA center, and countless more in both local and international contexts outside KTU (e.g. PhD summer schools, ERASMUS+ teaching visits, specially requested workshops, etc.). The workshops were delivered in Lithuanian, English, and Spanish languages.

Finally, I use MAXQDA on a regular basis for my own research projects as well. Some examples include several systematic literature reviews, my PhD thesis on Challenge-based learning delivered in distance mode, and a project on Policy issue life cycles in Lithuanian media. In the latter project, I have over 30 000 coded segments, which is one of the most impressive projects that I have worked on so far.

I am looking forward to new projects and new MAXQDA workshops to deliver to make scholars fall in love with it as much as I do!
