Consulting Services

I work with individuals, groups, and organizations (private, non-profit, governmental, etc.) Some of the specific services I can offer are found below, though if you are interested in something not listed let’s have a chat to see if it’s possible.

  • Project organization (structuring your data to make analysis more straightforward)
  • Code system development (build, refine, and define your codes)
  • Co-analysis (want a partner to code alongside you?)
  • Managing Teamwork (manage your projects to efficiently exchange teamwork)

I began my career as an English educator in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. The experience there of test-oriented education systems and intense pressure on students shifted my interest towards education research and policy analysis. I chose to pursue my Master’s in Education from Harvard University, where I studied International Education Policy and interned at the Center for Education Policy Research (CEPR).

As a graduate student I studied both quantitative and qualitative methods, but my deepest research interests were qualitative and focused on issues of trust and relationship building in educational organizations. I utilized a research method known as Portraiture to study a local teacher mentoring organization. Through analysis of my close observation and long-form interviews with local teacher mentors I created a portrait of the organization describing the ways in which they built deep and trusting relationships.

Prior to my current role as a MAXQDA trainer and consultant I worked with the University of Wisconsin—Madison, Division of Extension and led numerous qualitative research projects ranging from individual program evaluations to large-scale organizational undertakings.

In my current role I have consulted with individuals on their master theses and dissertations, with public organizations on large-scale research projects and I create custom training on basic and advanced applications of MAXQDA. I also serve as a MAXQDA Cooperation Partner representing MAXQDA at academic and professional conferences across North America.
