Experience

I have been a MAXQDA-Trainer since 2011 and in that time I have given more than 20 face to face workshops and more than 30 live webinars. I have travelled within the UK and also to Amsterdam, Vienna and Luxembourg to give workshops. Prior to 2011, I had provided occasional training and telephone support on other software programs for over 20 years. In 2005 I completed an MSc in Social Research Methods at the University of Surrey, as a mature student, and then worked in two successive research projects in the Department of Sociology at Surrey (the ESRC-funded “Question Bank”, and the NCRM-funded “Qualitative Innovations in CAQDAS”). In the latter project I compared four qualitative analysis programs in their application to the analysis of open ended questions asked in surveys and their use of geo-tagging facilities in qualitative analysis, MAXQDA was my preferred program out of the four.
