C: Can I store MAXQDA projects on a network drive?

MAXQDA is a databased softare and continuously saves changes a user makes into the database (the MAXQDA project file). It is absolutely necessary for MAXQDA to have uninterrupted access to the project file. If a project file is opened directly from a network drive and the network connection is interrupted, the project file may be damaged. We strongly advise our users to store or copy project files to their local harddrive before opening a project.

It is of course possible to use a network drive as storage for backups or sharing projects. Before opening a project file, however, you should copy the file to a local location (such as your desktop) – and then put it back on the network drive once you’re finished working.
