Experience

As part of my Master’s studies in Adult Education at Frederick University (2024–present), I have developed methodological expertise in quantitative content analysis, particularly through the use of MAXQDA. My Master’s thesis, titled “Qualitative Research Designs in Adult Education,” involves a comprehensive content analysis of peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024.

Specifically, I use MAXQDA to:

  • Code and categorize data based on a deductive category scheme.
  • Identify and quantify the frequency of specific research designs (e.g., case studies, grounded theory, ethnography) and examine their association with various theoretical contributions, such as theory development, hypothesis generation, and typology formation.
  • Analyze validity and reliability strategies reported in the articles, including methods used to enhance trustworthiness in qualitative research.
  • Examine the use of sampling methods, data collection tools, and analysis techniques, as well as the limitations reported for each type of qualitative research design.

I also have teaching experience with MAXQDA, as I teach Greek social science students how to use its basic functions for thematic analysis. I first developed my knowledge of thematic analysis during my previous Master’s degree (MBA in Marketing, University of West Attica, 2015–2017), where I conducted qualitative research for my thesis on successful viral marketing practices.
