Respect system date setting when entering data

18.05.2017, 08:37

I'm getting frustrated with the lack of attention to detail in the UI.

In the Data Editor, the Creation date for my documents appears as (e.g.)

Wednesday 5/17/17 12:29 AM

I created a new Document Variable with type Date/Time.

If I attempt to enter a date there as 5/17/17 , MAXQDA does not accept the date - I hit enter but the field remains unchanged.

After some trial-and-error, I discovered that I can enter that date as 17/5/17 and it will be accepted and subsequently display as Wednesday 5/17/17

I'd really prefer not to need to use a different date format for entry -- it makes no sense to me that dates would [b:jmb4anh5]display[/b:jmb4anh5] according to system date preferences, but require European date form for data entry.

Version: MAXQDA 12
