Exporting/Importing Code Systems

10.03.2021, 16:08

I'm posting about an issue I'm having exporting and importing code systems between projects. When I export a code system using the MAXQDA format and import it into a new project, the codes are imported without their hierarchical structure (i.e. all the codes and subcodes show up on the top-level). But when I export the code system using the REFI-QDA format and import that in a new project, the code system shows up as expected, with the hierarchical structure. This alternative approach is fine for now, but I wanted to post a question here to see if I'm doing something wrong or have stumbled into a bug.

Additional context: I'm doing this on MAXQDA 2020 on macOS. I previously tried doing this on MAXQDA 2020 on Windows 10 and the importing of the code system using the MAXQDA 2020 format worked properly.

Version: MAXQDA 2020
System: Mac OS X 11.0 (Big Sur)

Hi kumarhk,

Thank you for following up on this. Yes, this has been resolved in the most recent update. So if anyone still experiences this problem, just update to MAXQDA: 20.4.1

I hope that helps! Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA support team,

Andreas M.
