Methodenwissen | I have over twenty years of qualitative and mixed methods research experience. As a Ph.D. in Comparative Human Development, I have training in linguistic and psychological anthropology, ethnographic methods, discourse analysis, survey methodology, and statistics. |
Consulting/Beratung | As an interdisciplinary researcher, my work is grounded in anthropology, psychology, and sociology. I am qualified to provide consulting in social science research, HR-related research, and UX research. |
Trainerdetails | I received my Ph.D. in 2010 from the Department of Comparative Human Development of the University of Chicago. Since then, I have taught at some of the best universities in Turkey and the United States. I am an interdisciplinary scholar drawing on sociology, psychological and linguistic anthropology, and social and developmental psychology. My work examines the sociocultural and interactional constitution of the self, identity, and emotion and the role of language in these complex processes. My empirical research focuses on the interplay of language, self, and social change. In particular, I address the discourses of womanhood, self and generational change, social change and individual agency, the development of gendered emotional subjectivity, and the constitution and maintenance of gender ideologies. I employ mixed methods that bring together large-scale survey analysis with ethnographic observation, semi-structured interviews, and archival data in my research. I also teach a qualitative analysis course that reviews different methods of analysis using MAXQDA. |
