In this workshop, you will learn how to effectively plan and execute teamwork with MAXQDA. This session will provide you with decision-making tools and techniques that allow you to use MAXQDA as the backbone of your team analysis project. We will cover project-level management tools (such as TeamWork merge or exchange, as well as TeamCloud), tools for facilitation of co-analysis and distributed workflows (such as document sets, memos, code colors, code comments, and code weights), and we will share best practices related to teamwork in qualitative analysis (e.g. analyst onboarding, project documentation, approaches to coding consistency, and how to remain ‘on the same page’ in a team project).

Requirements
Knowledge of the MAXQDA basic features, including the ability to use the interface, add documents to the project, create and apply codes, and retrieve coded segments. An basic understanding of statistics and mixed methods will be helpful.
Laptop
All participants need a Windows or Mac laptop with the most current version of MAXQDA Analytics Pro (incl. the Stats module). If you do not already have a MAXQDA license, you can download the 14-day free trial shortly before the workshop. Please notice the system requirements.
About the Trainers
Christian Schmieder, Ph.D., is a seasoned methodologist, educator, evaluator, and organizational leader. Christian specializes in preparing both individuals and organizations for systematic qualitative data analysis. With over a decade of experience, Christian is an expert in qualitative data analysis, data analysis software, and methods pedagogy.
Joel Drevlow, is a qualitative and mixed methods research consultant and trainer. He holds a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he studied International Education Policy. His research interests include issues of trust and relationship-building in educational organizations and the facilitation of team-based qualitative data analysis. Prior to establishing his own consultancy, he worked with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Extension as a data analyst and trainer.
