Adding metadata (variables) to documents is a great feature! I know it is possible to use these to filter documents for retrieving subsets of quotes through "Mixed Methods". However, this way is very awkward and cumbersome and I believe it would be much more intuitive and definitely faster and simpler to be able to sort and filter documents directly in the documents window using the variables as columns (like an Excel sheet or a list in SharePoint).
