Sentiment Analysis: What gets identified as a speech act?

27.02.2023, 16:39

What parts of the Tweet does MAXQDA include in its sentiment analysis? For example:
-Words that are in a URL?
-Words that are hyperlinked?
-Words that are come after a # or @?

Thank you!

Dear Lynn,

Thank you for your question!

In general, for the Sentiment Analysis the entire content of the Tweet is considered. However, you can choose the option to ignore hashtags or add your own stop words. Links will be considered. However, given that links are usually not words that show up in the word lists used for the analysis they will likely not impact your analysis.
