code processing limitations?

03.06.2021, 18:29

In a recent query for a training client, we received a message stating that the process was limited to 500 codes (if I remember right it was the code matrix browser). Is this a general limitation? This project has a LOT of codes. :D

thank you for your question. No, this is not a general limitation. However, some tools within MAXQDA have limits on how many codes they can handle at the same time. Usually, it is a good idea to limit queries by using the "activate" function when working with larger numbers of codes. This is not only helpful to make the process faster but also quite important for the analysis. For example, a Code Matrix Browser with 500 codes (= a table with 500 rows) will be quite difficult to interpret.

I hope this helps! If not, or in case of any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA support team,
