Catalina and 2018.2.1

10.10.2019, 14:16

Hello,

Are there some issues with PDFs and Catalina? It seems whether the PDF is external or internal it fails to render in the document viewer. Where the PDF should be is a grey area. I can zoom, select, see coded patches (but no text). The codes area of the viewer seems fine, it's just the PDF area that is completely grey.

This behaviour occurred immediately after upgrading the OS to Catalina. I've allowed access to my external files to MaxQDA. I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this issue before I resort to a complete reinstall of MaxQDA.

Thanks,

Kelly

PS, Catalina isn't selectable on your support form. I assume this is just an oversight as Catalina is new for most of us.

Hi,

You're right. It has directly to do with the macOS Catalina update. Other softwares like Adobe/Photoshop also seem to have troubles with it. Our developers are now intensively working on troubleshooting, and we hope to offer our users a solution within a short time. Please address the MAXQDA online support, if you experience further issues with MAXQDA.

With best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA Support Team,

Thank you so much, glad to hear it's not just me. It's not mission critical as I'm just a private user that completely misuses qualitative analysis software to hold my fourth brain before the information eventually gets distilled into classes and writing. I've found MaxQDA's video support to be the best of the three tools I use and in my latest project it's been invaluable.

Again thanks and I look forward to the eventual fix.
