MAXQDA Portable Crashed after failed update

08.08.2017, 23:50

After launching MaxQDA 12 portable today, it announced that an update was available.
The update completed download, and then failed during install with the message that I no longer had access to the thumbdrive.

After stopping and re-inserting the thumbdrive, MaXQDA would no longer run, and the message "The program can't start because libmecab.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

Is there a less violent fix than reinstalling from scratch?

Dear mloxton,

yes, I don't think you need format or reinstall from scratch, it's probably just that this dll-file wasn't fully copied before the connection to your thumbdrive was interrupted. You can simply install MAXQDA over the existing installation, that should fix it. I will send you the downloadlink to MAXQDA 12 portable via a personal message in this forum very shortly.
Kind regards,
