MAXQDA

Please use Mac windows, not panels

With MAXQDA 12 for the Mac, opening Document System (and the other MAXQDA windows) in its own window doesn't actually create a MacOS window, it creates a MacOS panel (see https://developer.apple.com/library/con ... anels.html ). This means that 1) it can't be minimized, only closed; 2) tools like Moom (https://manytricks.com/moom/) that allow for quick window resizing don't work on it; 3) it can't be moved to another Space ( https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25574?locale=en_US ), and 4) they vanish when MAXQDA is not the active application.

The net effect is that it's much less friendly to use on a laptop, where screen space is at a premium and the ability to easily move/resize/hide windows is essential to working efficiently, than Atlas.ti, which uses native MacOS windows. I have been demoing both and I really wish I didn't need to trade off proper MacOS windowing in order to get the other advantages (and I can see many) of MAXQDA over Atlas.ti.

Version: MAXQDA 12
System: Windows 10

This is indeed a big problem. Has there been any movement on it?
