Feature Request: Spell Checker

20.01.2014, 23:51

Hello Guys,

I'd suggest integrating a spell checker into the software. The feature may not seem so important at first glance, however, it's very common to have many spelling mistakes while coding. I'm not certain, how difficult would it be to add this feature to the software, but it'd be great, if it exists to avoid typos and misspellings.

Thank you,
Bilal

Hi Bilal,

many thanks for your suggestion. Are you thinking about a spellchecker for writing memos and defining codes etc. or do also you mean a spell checker for the imported documents?

Best regards,
Stefan

Actually, I was talking about a spell checker for memos and codes. Yet, I believe that a spell checker is necessary for anything editable; this includes memos, codes, imported documents, etc. Nonetheless, if it's difficult to implement both, I'd say that a spell checker for codes and memos is more important, since I guess that most imported documents are word docs, therefore they'll be already checked for misspellings and typos.

Thanks,
Bilal

I agree; I would also like a spell checker function in documents, but especially in codes and memos.

Spell check would be very helpful when I transcribe a sound file on MAXQDA.

I am also hoping to see a spell checker in the next upgrade or two. This would be helpful if you are transcribing directly into MAXqda because the faster you type generally the more spelling errors you make. In an average transcription of one interview I can have as many as 10-12 misspelled words.

I think a spell checker in for codes and memos would be most helpful.

Im adding memos and don't even see a spell check in the memos, yikes!

I can imagine a conversation like this:

Boss: Hey, your memos and codes have typos, can you spell check please.
ME: Sorry no, MaxQDA doesn't have spell check.
Boss: So let's switch to an app that does.

Re: Feature Request: Spell Checker (MAXQDA 2020)

Hi,
I'm trying MAXQDA 2020 and couldn't find any Spell Checker functionality at a glance.
Is Spell Checker (for memos and documents created inside MAXQDA) still missing?
Thank you,
Carlos
