Audio files analysis issue

18.11.2014, 14:10

I was doing some work with audio files. Some issues:
1. I used timestamps and everything was saved, but today I lost all of these. Can I recover them? I didn't have a back-up not I exported them.
2. Sometimes, the program can't open the audio file and the software closes? Can you tell me what the issue might be? I'm using the computer at work for this.

Please help!

Dear Georgiana,

if you have reopened MAXQDA, you also need to turn on the media browser again to find the time stamps icons in the grey area again. To turn on the media browser, click on the first icon in the media browser toolbar.

Your second problem sounds like a codec problem. Please install our suggested codecs and try to import and open the audio files again. Further information on codecs can be found in our FAQs, question B 6:

It might also be useful to update your MAXQDA installation as some media related bugs have been fixed in the current release of MAXQDA.
Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA team,
