MAXQDA subtracting 1 day of every date when importing Excel

24.11.2021, 13:50

Hello everyone,

I'm running into a weird bug when importing dates from Excel ( Microsoft Excel for Mac version 16.55) as my document variables.

In importing the following text value 11/1/1734 from Excel it is imported in MAXQDA as 10/1/1734.

In importing the values I set variable type to "date/time", the reason it's text in Excel is because Excel doesn't recognise any dates older than 1900 as a date.

Any date values I import in this manner, is subtracted by one day. For example three other values in my table are:
14/5/1735 -> 13/5/1735
6/10/1735 -> 5/10/1735
5/1/1735 -> 4/1/1735

Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi RSOUTH,

This is definitely something unknown to us. Could you please send us a support ticket along with your project file (if possible) and a sample Excel file for troubleshooting? https://www.maxqda.com/function-support

Please don't forget to attach your support file to your ticket, which you can export from MAXQDA via "?" > "Export support file".

We look forward to your ticket.

Best regards
