Search First Page of PDF

19.11.2021, 19:59

Hi,

I'm looking to target a lexical search on just the first page of PDF documents. Is there any way to do this? I've looked into creating new datasets by removing all but the first page of PDFs, but even that process is either 1) onerous or 2) requires a separate, pay-for application.

Thanks,

Hi Kyle,

Thank you for posting here! Unfortunately, it is not possible to limit the results from the lexical search to the first page of a PDF. It would indeed be a possibility to edit the PDFs outside of MAXQDA and import only the first page. Another possibility would be to select all search results from the results table that are not from the first page of the PDF and exclude the search results from autocoding/exporting. Maybe this helps?
