Making a Meeting Transcript into a Focus Group

27.06.2021, 00:06

My research team completed nine interviews. The first three meetings were uploaded as meeting transcripts from Otter. The last six meetings were upload as focus group. The focus group meetings coded the individual speakers and the meeting transcripts did not. We coded all files.

What would be the best way to go back and code the speakers in the meeting transcript to match the focus group speakers? They are the same speakers.

Thank you so much,
Matt

Dear Matt,

Thank you for your question! You can easily convert already coded transcripts into Focus Group Transcripts, maybe this would be an option for you?

To do so, please open the transcript in question and choose "Import - Convert Text - Insert Displayed Text as Focus Group Transcript". You can read more about Focus Group Transcripts and converting transcripts here in our online manual:

Hi Maren,

Thank you so much for the response. We did not realize the focus group feature until after we finished coding. We imported from Otter into a word file and copy and pasted the information.

Is there any way to manually assign a speaker to transcripts that are within a batch of focus group transcripts?

Matt
