Documents from Excel Spreadsheet

27.02.2020, 16:13

Is there a way to code the same text with multiple codes when using the Import > Documents from Excel Spreadsheet function?

Using this feature, the Document content is constructed by what is in each of the cells that are marked as codes during import.
If the same text is coded multiple times, it is repeated in the document contents, rather than showing multiple codes for the same document.

Is there a way to multi-code a single text segment using the Excel inport?

Hello Matthew,

unfortunately it is not possible at the moment to code a text segment with two different codes via the survey import. I will forward this as an idea to our feedback team.
However, you can use backslash in order to create or address subcode levels. For example "Colour\Green" in the title of the column will code the segment with the code "green" that is a subcode of the code "colour".

I hope this helps! Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA support team,
