Merge code segments automatically

08.11.2018, 11:11

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to merge consecutive and identically (auto)coded segments automatically?

A little more context:
I have a bunch of codes that I have coded through a lexical search. I am interested in whole sentences but sometimes a word appears in 2 (or more) consecutive sentences which results in 2 (or more) coded segments. To have a cleaner appearance I want to merge such consecutive segments. Is there a way to automate this?

Hope someone can help!

I don't think this is possible. If it is, I'd certainly love to know how too. It would save so much time. Anyone have any ideas?

No, I'm afraid it is not possible to do this automatically. The only thing that comes near a solution would be to select a broader autocode-interval (like 2 sentences before/after) while autocoding with the lexical search – that way, you should get less hits. But I'm afraid that's about it (the Complex Coding Query "Followed by" doesn't work for one and the same code).
