Experience

I am a Qualitative Research Specialist and Lecturer in the Program Development & Evaluation Unit at the University of Wisconsin - Cooperative Extension, where I coordinate the creation and maintenance of the institution's central data collection and storage system. I am leading our institution’s state-wide education program around qualitative data analysis and the use of MAXQDA.

In the past, I have served as a qualitative research and software specialist at UW-Madison and at Colgate University. Since 2008 I have taught over 100 workshops, classes and work sessions on qualitative data analysis software and methods. I have consulted on the use of all major software packages, including MAXQDA.

My current research evolves around the use of qualitative research software as a tool for methods teaching and metacognition. I am currently the P.I. of a case study that focuses on the effects of non-formal teaching techniques on educators’ and researchers’ analytic habits and analytic self-esteem.
