Freezing

12.07.2016, 15:33

I have the latest version, but it's been freezing upon startup for the last week or so. I am unable to run the program, and have to force quit each time. I have also followed the following directions, without success:

"Regarding the freezing:
It sounds like your user settings might have been damaged. Please reset the settings manually. Thank you!

1) Press shift + cmd + g and enter the following path (which you will need to adjust according to your username!): /Users/*YourUserName*/Library/Preferences

2) Look for the MAXQDA 12 folder. Open it and delete the .ini and .prp files."

Version: MAXQDA 12+
System: Windows 10

Dear Kyle,

the hint of the support team to delete the MAXQDA12.ini file in the MAXQDA appdata folder should indeed help in your case. I have asked the support team to contact you again.

Maybe these steps already help you, because it seems that you are using Windows, not Mac:

1. Press Windows-Key + R
2. Type in %appdata% and hit Enter
3. Navigate to the MAXQDA12 folder and delete the file "MAXQDA12.ini" (Configuration file)

Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA team,
Stefan

I'm not quite sure why the post indicates that I am using Windows. I am not. I'm on a Mac.

Hi,
when posting there are some drop down questions to answer, and you have selected "Windows". See above. No problem at all :)
