View comments in extended retrieved segments window

11.04.2014, 10:40

Hello once again,

I love the possibility of adding a comment to a coded segment, it allows me to summarize the quotation and give it a short meaning. While I see that it's possible to view comments in the "table view" of the "retrived segments" pane, I am wondering whether it is also possible to view the comments in the extended view (the one obtained by toggling the "table view" button).

Thanks again,
Best,

Francesco.

Hi Francesco,

the comments are displayed as tooltips if you hover over the source information box of a coded segment.

Best regards,
Stefan

P.S.: Maybe it would be worth to have a look at the "Summary" function of MAXQA. It allows you to sum up segments of a code for a document. You will find more information in the MAXQDA help if you search for "Summarys".

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the answer, maybe then it could be a feature request : to have it as an option to display it permanently either in the source information box, or in a separate column. It would be really helpful.

The summary function is great, but if I am not mistaken, the summaries apply to the entire set of coded segments, not to the individual segment.

Thanks!

Francesco.
