formatting documents for pre-processing

24.07.2013, 17:07

i have a document with 'tables' which i would like to 'code' for pre-processing.

i find that even though i'm using the codes correctly the text does not import. for example, each of my <codes> has to be at the opening and end of each table cells (it is a one column table, with many rows).

is pre-processing only available in documents without any tables?

thanks in advance

Hi,

pre-processing is only available for the parts of a document that are outside tables.

You could transform your table in Word into text. This option is available in the Ribbons for a table in Word. If you replace the table structure with a tabulator or paragraph structure the pre-processor should work.

Hope this helps,

thanks Stefan, much appreciated.

is there any particularly clever way of 'batching' the table to text process in multiple documents?

Hi,

it should be possible to use the Word built in Macro function to record and play the following steps:

1. Search for next Table
2. Change Table to Text

best regards,
Stefan
