Highlight coding greyed out problem (.pdf issue?)

31.03.2011, 05:50

Hi all,

Question from a MaxQDA newbie: Using MaxQDA 10. Working with doing textual analysis of .pdf documents. I'd like to use the highlight coding tool bar, but it is "greyed out". Is there anything I need to do to enable it? Or is it a .pdf issue, I.e. it won't allow for highlighting unless it's a text document...?

Thanks in advance,
David

Hi David,

at the moment it is not possible to use the highlight coding function for PDF, because this would mean to edit the PDF.

Highlight coding only works for RTF and DOC/X files.

Thanks Stefan, that's what I thought was the problem.

Has this issue been fixed with version 11? I really want to be able to highlight pdf documents. It seems edit mode still only works with Word and similar documents.
