The logbook

We would rather associate the expression logbook with the sea and navigation; a journal of events and observations. The MAXQDA logbook has a similar function. You can document all occurrences concerning your project and your data analysis. The logbook is structured like a scroll; new entries are entered on top of the logbook.

You access the logbook through the symbol from your main tool bar. A RTF-window will open which itself owns another tool bar right below the header. The symbols are basically self-explanatory; almost all of them serve the purpose of formatting the text after your fancy. You can, for instance, choose a font, font size, and color, while it is also possible to print or export the logbook.

When submitting a new entry you should first click on the button “New Logbook-Entry“ (the symbol to the far left of the tool bar). This enables the logbook to protocol the date and time, as well as your username.
