Currently CEO of VERBI Software, Consult, Research GmbH, Germany. VERBI produces and distributes MAXQDA, one of the leading software tools for qualitative data analysis. Anne Kuckartz studied sociology, political sciences, and philosophy at the RWTH Aachen, where she received a masters degree in sociology. She has been an employee at the Technical University Berlin and at the Freie University Berlin from 1980 until 1994. She was a head of the research department in a private company before she worked with Verbi. Anne Kuckartz has been involved as a researcher and project manager in various qualitative projects mainly in the field of public health and has taught qualitative methods at the Technical University of Berlin.

Being able to correct transcripts is good; memos worked well; and being able to copy and drop things into word is good. Frequencies are also another good feature, as is the weighting. The manual is very helpful. Also being able to change codes is an improvement on earlier versions."
