Search Functions

A Quick Look

A Quick Look – Context searches now in all four windows

Clicking on the magnifying glass icon in any window now brings up a search bar. You can do lexical searches and immediately see how many hits have been found and which hit is currently being shown. The arrow buttonsmake it possible for you to easily jump from one hit to the next and see it in context.

TIP: The easiest way to pull up the search bar is to click on the window that you want to search in and use the shortcut Ctrl+F.

Here are a few examples:

In the Retrieved segments window, the search function helps you quickly find all the places that a certain word appears in the retrieved codings, which could provide new insights (e.g. that the word “learning” was used much more often by certain scholars than by others).

Find your code immediately: Projects can become very complex with hundreds of codes and subcodes. Now you can find a code as fast as you can type it, even if it’s buried four levels down. In the example above, the first of three codes that include the word “electric” is shown.

Don’t lose track of anything: Does something you’re reading remind you of something from earlier in the document? Now you can just enter a part of that passage into the search field, and all possible locations will be found. Simply use the arrow keys to jump from one to the next until you find the one you were looking for. In the example above, the word “dominance” was found twice in the document, and the first hit is being shown.
